PHRE 3045 – Sports Injuries

This course focuses on post injury prevention and reconditioning exercises for clients that have had or are at risk of having an athletic (sports) related injury. Functional anatomy, postural evaluation and muscle imbalances will be used to develop exercise strategies for common sports related injuries.

Description:
  1. Start either prone with forehead supported, seated, or standing.
  2. Initiate movement by contracting rhomboids and middle trapezius and brining scapulae together.
  3. Resist the tendency to shrug and over recruit your upper trapezius.
  4. Avoid excessive back extension.  Movement should come from scapulae and arms only.
  5. Go through maximum allowable (pain free) range.
